Some games seem silly at first glance, but the more you play, the harder it is to stop. Wurst Dash is one such game. It doesn't have a lengthy storyline or spectacular graphics; it simply throws the player into a chaotic kitchen and begins a frantic escape as a moving sausage.
It sounds absurd, but that very idea makes the game unique from the very first few minutes.
In Wurst Dash, the player controls a sausage constantly hurtling forward. Ahead isn't a normal race track, but a series of "nightmare kitchen" traps: slashing knives, ovens, presses, rotating saw blades, and even hot floor sections that can instantly eliminate the character.
The game is an endless runner, so the levels have virtually no fixed ending point. The longer you live, the faster your speed becomes, and the shorter your reaction time gets.
What many people enjoy is the chaotic feel of the game. At times, the gameplay is quite pleasant, but just seconds later, everything becomes extremely tense as traps appear continuously from various directions.
The mechanics of Wurst Dash aren't overly complicated. The character runs automatically, and the player focuses on dodging obstacles at the right time.
PC Controls:
Initially, the game is quite accessible, but the longer you play, the easier it is to lose your composure due to the constantly increasing speed. Many sections require almost instantaneous reflexes if you don't want to lose after just a small touch.
Don't react too quickly.
Many new players tend to jump as soon as they see an obstacle appear. In Wurst Dash, that can easily lead you into the next trap.
Look ahead instead of looking at the character.
The game is quite fast-paced, so focusing on looking far ahead will help you react better.
Don't stick to a fixed pace.
Some traps appear randomly or change speed, so playing by "habit" can easily lead to failure.
Wurst Dash isn't a game focused on graphics or deep content. Its biggest strengths lie in its fast pace, fun chaos, and easy-to-learn gameplay, but it's difficult to maintain a high score.
If you like short, fast-reflex arcade games with a slightly quirky style, Wurst Dash is a worthwhile choice in the current endless runner genre.
