When I first started Blocky Xtreme, I thought it was just another drag-and-drop block game like many others. But after a few rounds, I realized that every decision affects the next turns. Just one wrong block placement can ruin the entire game.
The game's screen is quite compact. Most of the area is dedicated to the board, with blocks waiting to be used below. There aren't too many buttons, so beginners can get used to it quickly.
In each turn, you'll receive several blocks of different shapes. Your only task is to drag them onto the board.
If playing on a computer:
If playing on a phone:
When a row or column is filled, it disappears. This gives you more space to continue playing.
The game only ends when all remaining blocks are unplaceable on the board.
Don't rush to place blocks as soon as you see a space. Some squares may seem nice, but they leave you with insufficient space for larger blocks in the next turn.
I usually keep the middle of the board as open as possible. When L-shaped or long blocks appear, this space becomes useful.
Also, if the game has a Hint button, only use it when you're really stuck. Finding your own solution is much more fun.
If you like games that you can open for a few minutes and close anytime, Blocky Xtreme is worth trying. The rules are easy to understand, the controls revolve around drag and drop, but the longer you play, the more you have to think. That's also why many people only play one game and then continue for a few more.
