Meowdoku – A Cute Cat Puzzle Game for Logic Lovers

There are plenty of Sudoku-inspired games out there, but Meowdoku takes a different approach. Instead of familiar numbers, the screen features only colored tiles and little cats. It looks gentle at first glance, but after trying the first few levels, you’ll realize the game requires more thought than you might expect.

What I like is that the game doesn't feel stressful. There’s no countdown timer constantly pressuring you; you can take a few minutes to study the board before deciding on your next move. This leisurely pace makes Meowdoku perfect for unwinding after school or work.

How do you play Meowdoku?

The rules aren't lengthy, but they are important to remember.

Only one cat can be placed in each colored region. Each row and column must also contain exactly one cat. Additionally, no two cats can be adjacent to each other, even diagonally. Violating any of these conditions renders the solution incorrect.

When starting, I usually mark the tiles where a cat definitely *cannot* go first. This clears up the board and makes it easier to spot the remaining valid positions.

Controls

On PC

  • Left-click to mark a tile where a cat cannot be placed.
  • Right-click or double-click to place a cat (depending on the version).
  • Click again to remove the mark if you want to change your choice.

On mobile

  • Tap a tile to mark it.
  • Tap or hold as instructed by the game to place a cat.
  • You can undo your move if you realize your reasoning was incorrect.

There are no complex controls, making it easy for beginners to pick up.

Hands-on experience

What I really appreciate about Meowdoku is the sense of accomplishment after completing a level. There are no massive rewards or a flood of new features to unlock. What keeps players hooked is simply the satisfaction of finding the solution after systematically ruling out other possibilities.

There were days when I intended to play just one level before stopping, only to end up playing a few more—driven by curiosity about how much harder the next level would be.

Conclusion

Meowdoku is a great choice if you enjoy deduction games but want to avoid complex calculations. It features straightforward rules and pleasant visuals, and every level can be solved through logic rather than random guessing. This blend of a relaxing style and well-balanced challenges makes Meowdoku a game worth trying for puzzle enthusiasts.
